Help your pet

We can probably help you keep your pet.

Most families who think they need to surrender have other options. Tell us what's going on and we'll connect you with the right resource — no judgment, no questions about your income, no shame.

If you've tried everything

Surrender is here for you, too.

Sometimes the right decision is to ask us to take your pet. That's okay. We'd rather you reach out than abandon them somewhere. Owner surrender is by appointment — we'll talk first, by phone, to understand what's going on and to make sure we can give your pet the best possible outcome.

How owner surrender works

Spaces are limited, so we schedule surrenders by appointment. Here's what to expect:

  • Call or fill out the form below — we'll respond within 1 business day
  • 30-minute phone conversation to understand your pet and your situation
  • Schedule a drop-off appointment that works for you (usually within 2 weeks)
  • Bring your pet, their records, and anything that comforts them (a blanket, a toy)
  • We'll talk about your pet's history and personality so we can match them well
  • You can opt in to updates when your pet finds a home — most families do
